Masoumi, Kazem (born 1961, Tehran)

Kazem Masoumi earned a degree from the College of Arts in Tehran.

He began his art career with stage acting and then turned to screenwriting and making 8mm films.

Masoumi wrote and directed his first movie ‘The Thief & the Writer’ in 1985.

He has made a number of movies, including ‘Suspicion’ (1992), ‘Bitter Almonds´ (1997), ‘Big Drum Under the Left Foot’ (2004), and ‘Symphony’ (2009).

Masoumi has also made a few series, including ‘The Silver Man’ (1998) and ‘A House without a Bird’ (2010).

As an actor, he has appeared in ‘Chrysanthemums’ (1984) and has some experience as an executive producer, producer and scene and cloth designer.
