Azizi, Mahmoud (born December 15, 1944, Tehran)

Mahmoud Azizi received his PhD in Theater from Paris 8 University.

He has directed, written and acted in a number of plays and is also a university professor.

Azizi has appeared in several series, including ‘The Hidden Half of the Moon’ (1994), ‘The Green Journey’ (2002), ‘The Way of Love’ (2004), ‘Setayesh’ (2009), ‘The Hidden Secret’ (2012), ‘Panacea’ (2013), and ‘The Ascended’ (2014).

He has also acted in movies, such as ‘The Girl in the Sneakers’ (1998), ‘Born in the Month of Mehr’ (1999), ‘Sentenced to Heaven’ (2005), ‘The Golden Collars’ (2011), and ‘Bodyguard’ (2015).

He was nominated for a Fajr International Film Festival's Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in ‘Leily is With Me’ (1995).

He also won a number of awards for the same movie at the Sacred Defense Film Festival.
