Bozorgnia, Mohammad (AKA Mohammad Reza Bozorgnia: born 1944, Mashhad)

Mohammad Bozorgnia studied at the School of Television and Cinema (presently known as the University of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting).

After years of working in the field of television and documentary filmmaking, he began his cinematic activities as an assistant director on the movie ‘The Postman’ (1972), directed by Dariush Mehrjoui.

Bozorgnia has directed and written various movies, including ‘The Angelica’ (1988), ‘Storm’ (1996), ‘A Place to Live’ (2004) and ‘Maritime Silk Road’ (2010).

One of his achievements is receiving the Best Director award for his movie ‘The Tanker Wars’ (1993) at Iran’s Fajr International Film Festival.
