Laffafian, Hassan (born April 14, 1968, Mashhad)

Hassan Laffafian was raised in Zahedan. He joined the Dramatic Arts Center of Sistan and Baluchistan Province in 1981.

He began working with the only theater troupe of the theater office and simultaneously joined student drama clubs where he acted, directed and wrote plays. He then joined the Zahedan Cinema Association and began making 8mm films.

In 1987, he staged a play at the Fajr International Theater Festival in Tehran for which he won numerous awards.

Laffafian studied Film Directing at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Tehran University.

He has directed a few movies, including ‘New Year Comes Home’ (2008) and ‘Worrisome’ (2009).

Aside from directing a few educational programs for television, he has worked as a post-production coordinator and assistant director in a number of movies such as ‘Artery’ (1997) and ‘Empty Hands’ (2006).
