Movassaqi, Davoud (born 1951, Meshkin Shahr)

Davoud Movassaqi is an Iranian actor, producer, screenwriter and director.

He was born in the city of Meshkin Shahr in Ardebil Province, northwestern Iran. In high school, he studied mathematics and computer sciences.

In 1989, he experienced filmmaking with a short film. Since then, Movassaqi has directed and produced several movies for the big screen, including ‘The Final Blow’ (1993), ‘The Key to Marriage’ (1997), ‘The Wedding Arrangements’ (2003), ‘The Separated’ (2004) and ‘The Distinguished Suitor’ (2006).

In 1979, he stepped into the world of acting with roles in television series such as ‘Mirza Koochak Khan (Jungle Commander)’ (1984-1987), and some movies, including ‘Penitentiary’ (1983), ‘The Last Chance’ (1989), ‘Mr. Governor’ (1991), ‘As Close as Your Shadow’ (1995), and ‘Friends’ (1998-1999).

Movassaqi has experience in script writing and film production as well.
