Monadi, Afsaneh (born 1963)

Afsaneh Monadi was born in a family of art enthusiasts. At a very young age, she joined the ‘Kanoon Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults’, which organizes activities related to art and literature for children and young adults. 

She studied cinema at university and received her Master’s in Cinema Studies. 

She also collaborated as screenwriter with directors like Nader Moqaddas. Her first project as a director was ‘The End of The Road’ (2006), before directing ‘The Choice’ (2007).

Aside from filmmaking, Monadi has translated a few novels into Persian.
