Sabbaghzadeh, Mehdi (born June 23, 1951, Mashhad)
Mehdi Sabbaghzadeh is an Iranian editor, movie producer and director who started out his cinematic career by making some experimental works, documentaries and short films.
He made his directorial debut in 1981 with ‘Sun Residents’, and then produced, edited and wrote the script for some of his works.
Sabbaghzadeh has made several movies, including ‘The Senator’ (1983), ‘Missing’ (1985), ‘The Last Picture’ (1986), ‘Grey Years’ (1988), ‘The Game is Over’ (1989), ‘The Migrants’ (1990), ‘A Search on the Island’ (1990), ‘The Empty House’ (1991), ‘Good Days of Life’ (1994), ‘The Stuntmen’ (1997), ‘Love Isn't Enough’ (1998), ‘Maral’ (2000), ‘Breakfast for Two’ (2003), ‘The Proposal for 50 Million’ (2005), ‘The Taxi Driver’ (2006), and ‘Earth and Fire’ (2010).
His movie ‘The Empty House’ was nominated for a number of Crystal Simorghs at the 10th edition of the Fajr International Film Festival, going on to win awards for Best Script, Best Actor in a Leading Role and Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
