Qavidel, Amir (born March 21, 1947, Mashhad – died November 8, 2009, Tehran)
Amir Qavidel made his debut in 1974 as a screenwriter. He worked as director Samuel Khachikian’s assistant in ‘Death in the Rain’.
Qavidel had years of experience as director, writer and scenic designer. He was particularly an active director in the years following the 1979 Islamic Revolution of Iran.
So far he has directed and written the script for ‘Mirza Koochak Khan’ (1983), ‘Jungle Commander’ (1983) and ‘Misty Harbor’ (1992) and has directed ‘Rokhsareh’ (2001) and ‘A Friend Made of Fire’ (2009).
He passed away from a liver condition at the age of 62.
