Sima Tirandaz
Tirandaz, Sima (born August 31, 1970, Tehran)
Sima Tirandaz studied acting in courses taught by famous Iranian actress Golab Adineh.
She has a BA in Dramatic Literature from the Islamic Azad University and a Master’s degree in Directing and Acting from the College of Cinema and Theater.
In 1988, she began stage acting in the educational plays of the School of Arts and Literature.
She made her film debut with a short role in ‘Hamoon’ (1989).
She then appeared in movies such as ‘The Lady’ (1991), ‘Shadows of Invasion’ (1992), ‘The Reward of Silence’ (2006), ‘Four Springs’ (2007), ‘Vertigo’ (2008), ‘Hot Chocolate’ (2009), and ‘After the Fog’ (2010).
Tirandaz has also acted in a number of series, including ‘The Mirror’ (1987), ‘Life’ (1992-1993), ‘The Young Lawyers’ (1995-1996), ‘The Friendship Agency’ (1997-1999), ‘Youth’ (2001), ‘A House in the Dark’ (2003), ‘The Green Ring’ (2007), ‘In the Eye of the Storm’ (2003-2009), ‘Setayesh’ (2009), ‘Chimney’ (2013), and ‘Setayesh 2’ (2013).
She was nominated for a Crystal Simorgh from the 11th Fajr International Film Festival for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her appearance in ‘Shadows of Invasion’.
She received the Best Actress in a Supporting Role Award from the 11th Iran Cinema Celebration festival for ‘The Reward of Silence’.
