Fazl, the son of Shazan Neishabouri, was among one of the devotees of the Ahl al-Bayt during the 7th century Hijri who lived in Neishabour. A great religious scholar and one of the most well-respected men of his time, he did not fear to speak out against the social injustice of his time. His outspoken sermons and open criticism of the caliphate were reasons for agents of the caliph to conspire against him and plot and scheme to portray him as a deceitful man who wanted to create doubts and suspicions in the religion he devoutly followed.
