Debut edition of Iran National and Ancient Sports Festival has been held in the historic Iranian city of Isfahan.
The event took place in Naqsh-e Jahan Square with 1,300 artists as well as athletes from various disciplines in attendance.
Iranian martial art inscribed by UNESCO as "Pahlevani and Zoorkhanei" rituals, literally meaning Sportsmanship and House of Strength, were also showcased at the festival.
Naqsh-e Jahan Square (AKA Imam Square) is situated at the center of Isfahan city, Iran. The UNESCO World Heritage site is a vitrine of the most enticing artistic craftsmanship, constructed between 1598 and 1629.
Naqsh-e Jahan Square is the highlight of every culture tour to Iran.
