US serves Iran ‘The Servant’ best

‘The Servant’ by Iranian director Farnoush Abedi is honored as Best Animation at River Bend Film Festival in the US.

Iran notable animated short ‘The Servant’ by Farnoush Abedi has been awarded Best Animation Film at River Bend Film Festival in the US.

‘The Servant’ narrates the story of a writer who catches an insect in a glass. Instead of following his first impulse to kill it, he lets his captive bug live and grow. Over time, however, the roles of prisoner and guard threaten to swap.

‘The Servant’ has so far screened at different national and international film festivals, racking up more than 20 awards.

In its most recent screening at 16th River Bend Film Festival in the US, Abedi’s animated flick grabbed the title for Best Animation.

Founded in 2002, River Bend Film Festival is a celebration of independent filmmaking and has screened hundreds of student, regional, and international films, averaging 50-70 per year.

The 16th edition of the event was held on May 3-5, 2018 in the US state of Indiana.
