ifilm presents to you some of the Iranian directors who have been to Cannes to attend the world famous Festival de Cannes.
Veteran Iranian director Darioush Mehrjui is first on the list. He paved the way to Cannes with his masterpiece ' The Cow' (La Vache) which gained world recognition and admiration.
The director has offered a number of other movies to the festival too including his 1970 'The Postman'.
The next internationally celebrated Iranian director who grabbed the Palm d'Or of the festival is late Abbas Kiarostami.
Last but not the least on the list is the prominent Iranian director Asghar Farhadi who has so far been to the festival with his movies like 'The Salesman' (Le Client).
'Everybody Knows', the latest artistic creation of the director is set to open the 2018 Festival de Cannes.
The Cannes International Festival is one of the world’s most publicized events which aims at drawing attention to and raise the profile of films in order to contribute towards the development of cinema, according to the festival’s website.
The 71st annual edition of the event starts today May 8 and will end May 19, 2018, in Cannes, France.
