Iran film ‘Mahoora’ attends Cannes Film Festival

Iran film ‘Mahoora’ is to be screened at 71st Cannes Film Festival.

Iran film ‘Mahoora’ has been scheduled to be screened at the 71st edition of Cannes Film Festival in France.

Directed by Hamid Zargarnejad, the movie was produced based on a four-year research project. That’s why the film crew selected a wetland at the Iranian southwest province of Khuzestan as the location of the flick.

The technical stage for ‘Mahoora’ took more than a year.

The movie went on the silver screen at the 36th edition of the Fajr Film Festival.   

The film depicts the story of a border village in Iran where people have a strange local custom.

‘Mahoora’ features popular Iranian actors such as Kamran Tafti, Bahareh Kian-Afshar, Dariush Arjmand, Saeed Aqakhani, Mitra Hajjar, Ali Osivand and Yousef Moradian.

Cannes Film Festival, is an annual film event held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from all around the world. Founded in 1946, the festival is held annually (usually in May) at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès (Palace of Festivals and Conferences) in Paris.

The 2018 edition of the event is slated for May 8-19, in Paris, France.
