Spanish filmfest to host Iranian lineup

A lineup of five Iran features has won tickets to the 17th round of Imagineindia International Film Festival in Spain.

'Gaze' by Farnoush Samadi, Hamze Zarei's 'Song of Hands' and 'Retouch' by Kaveh Mazaheri have made it to the official selection of short films.

Iran feature film 'Blockage' by Mohsen Gharaei and 'Hamja' documentary by Mehdi Ghanavati will also compete for award.

'Gaze' has so far grabbed a number of prestigious awards and titles from various film events, including 30th Minimalen Short Film Festival in Norway and 36th Uppsala Int'l Short Film Festival in Sweden.

Gharaei's 'Blockage' has also won the best film prize at New Currents section of 22nd Busan Int'l Film Festival in South Korea and the best leading actor prize at 2nd Malaysia Golden Global Awards.  

Over 80 films from 11 countries will compete in the official section of the festival.    

Workshops, conferences, round tables will also take place during the 15 days of this film festival.

The 17th edition of Imagineindia International Film Festival will take place May 17-31, 2018.
