Iranian short animation 'Mr. Deer' has been chosen to be screened at the 26th edition of the Anima Mundi Film Festival in Brazil.
The animation will go on screen at International Panorama section of the Brazilian event that is a non-competitive Category.
Produced by Elaheh Farnia and directed by Mojtaba Mousavi, ‘Mr. Deer’ took two years of production with professional tech crew in collaboration.
The 9-minute animation is set in an unknown time, in a ruined subway station which is similar to those in modern European societies. People in this society have animal faces and have forgotten humane values.
‘Mr. Deer’ has gone on screen at a number of international film events, including the 2018 Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France and the 2018 Animafest Zagreb in Croatia.
It was awarded at the international competition section of the 36th Fajr International Film Festival in Iran.
The other representative of Iran at the International Panorama section is 'The Train' made by Javad Matouri.
‘Nobody’ by Elham Toroqi, ‘Roobi and Chickens’ by Babak and Behnoud Nekooei, and 'Polychrome' by Negar Halimi will also go on screen at Short For Children section of the Anima Mundi.
The Anima Mundi was created in 1993 with the aim of promoting and disseminating animation in Brazil. The event is one of the largest in the world in terms of audience.
The 2018 edition of the festival is slated for July 21-29 in Rio de Janeiro and for August 1-5 in São Paulo.
