Iran short film ‘Alphabet’ has been scheduled to be screened at the 2nd edition of the Palm Springs International short Film Festival in the US.
The flick is to participate at the competition section of the American Film event.
Directed by Kianoush Abedi, ‘Alphabet’ is a 3D animated production of Iran's Documentary and Experimental Film Center in late 2017.
The 6-minute animated piece depicts a nation that has forgotten the alphabet of living. They cannot see, hear, or speak, but the words are waiting for them eagerly.
‘Alphabet’ has so far joined some international film events, winning a number of awards, including the best short film award at the 5th Sayulita Film Festival in Mexico and the Best Experimental and Animation award at the 6th Speechless Film Festival in the US.
The Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films (aka ShortFest), being held annually in Palm Springs, California, is the largest film festival for short films in the US.
The festival takes place across seven days each June, showing more than 350 short films every year, and hosting a Short Film Market with more than 3,000 new short films annually.
It also presents a three-day program of seminars, master classes, panels and roundtable discussions with free admission for all filmmaking and industry guests.
The 2018 edition of the event is slated for August 22-26.
