Iran play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' by Mostafa Koushki is to compete at 2018 Gdansk Shakespeare Festival in Poland.

Iran play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' by Mostafa Koushki is to compete at 2018 Gdansk Shakespeare Festival in Poland.

The play has been rewritten by Baqer Soroush and will go on stage at the 22nd edition of the festival.

A brief account of the play script reads, 'The king of Athens is to marry Hippolyta in the full moon of a summer night. Everyone is happy except for two old friends- Lysander and Demetrius both in love with Hermia. Hermia's father is determined that Hermia either marries with Demetrius or is sent to the temple to stay unmarried for good. Hermia and Lysander have loved one another since childhood, though.'

Amir-Mehdi Jouleh, Azin Nazari, Ghazal Shojaei, Ali-Reza Keymanesh, Khatereh Hatami and Sajjad Baqeri are some of the actors who appear in the play.

The Shakespeare Festival is the largest, international theater event which is organized each year in the first week of August in Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia.

The international event combines performances with artistic events, workshops, meetings with theater creators.

This year works from Germany, Argentina, and some other countries attend the event that has been slated for July 27- August 5, 2018.
