Iranian short ‘Umbra’ has been selected to go on screen at the 17th edition of the Silhouette Film Festival in Paris, France.
Directed by Saeed Jafarian and produced by Iranian actor Rambod Javan, the film will vie at the short film competition section of the French festival.
'Umbra' is about a young woman who realizes a few minutes after midnight that she is with no one. Worried, she goes out in the darkness of the streets.
‘Umbra’ has previously taken part at the Cinéfondation section of the 71st Cannes Film Festival and the 2018 Vila do Conde Film festival in Portugal.
Founded in 2002, Silhouette aims at broadcasting and promoting short movies to a large audience. The festival takes place every year since more than ten years. It is a convivial and open air event open to a large public and cinema professionals.
According to the festival’s website, all the films screened open air are running for the Public Award, while the official competition and the parallel line-up (screened indoor) are running for the Jury Award and the Student Jury Award.
The 2018 edition of the Silhouette Film Festival is slated for August 24-September 1.
