Having covered some major events till 1880s, here’s another historical period.

1882

Chronophotgraph, a device that could take 12 pictures per second was developed. Here is what it used to look like, in discrete images.

1890s

1890

The first movie was shot. It tested a new device and format called original cylinder Kinetograph. Here is what Kinetoscope used to look like.

1891

The first public show of motion pictures was made. The movie was shot in May the same year at Edison’s labs (affiliated to the famous inventor Thomas Edison). Audience saw the filmmaker passing his hat in front of him, and then reaching for it with his other hand.
