US flick casts Iran actor Peyman Maadi, France celebrity

Upcoming American action flick ‘6 Underground’ has cast famed Iranian actor Peyman Maadi and celebrated French actress Mélanie Laurent.

The two artists signed on to join the ensemble cast of Michael Bay‘s upcoming big-budget action film, a media report recently said, adding the flick targeted a worldwide release in 2019 on Netflix with filming due to begin later this month.

Maadi is a Berlin Silver Bear Best Actor winner for Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar-winning ‘A Separation’ while Laurent has won the César Award and Lumières Award in the Most Promising Actress category.

While the plot details are still under wraps, a media release said the flick follows the story of six billionaires forming a team to deal with some bad guys.

‘6 Underground’ is the second collaboration of Maadi with director Bay’s ‘13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi’ as an actor.
