Iran animation 'Pet Man' to vie in US

Iran animated film 'Pet Man' is set to compete at 2018 Horrible Imaginings Film Festival in the US.

Directed by Marzieh Abrar-Paydar, the animation will be screened alongside other feature films, and animations which have fantasy and horror themes.

‘Pet Man’ tells the story of a pet shop owner who is sleeping in the shop. He sees himself in a scary cage with other animals. Trying to break the cage, he faces a barrier every time.

The animation has so far taken part at a number of international events, including the 40th Festival international du Court Metrage in France.

Horrible Imaginings Film Festival aims to amplify voices that express those emotions that make life a little more challenging. Fear, Anxiety, despair, depression, the emotions that all of us recognize, but do not enjoy talking about. Through expressing of those feelings, the festival means to foster empathy through linked experiences.

Ninth edition of the event is slated for August 31 to September 2, 2018.
