Iran short film 'Staircase' to vie in Venice fest

Iran short 'Staircase' starring critically acclaimed actress Sara Bahrami is to compete at Venice Film Festival.  

Directed by Mohsen Banihashemi, 'Staircase' is one of the 19 titles made it to the Horizons short films section of the prestigious film festival in Italy.

Cast on the 20-minute flick includes names such as Sara Bahrami, Toumaj Danesh Behzadi, Faezeh Yousefi.

Bahrami received Best Actress award in a Leading Role for her amazing portrayal of an addict in Behruz Shoeibi’s drama 'Axing'.

The 75th Venice Film Festival or Venice International Film Festival aims to raise awareness and promote international cinema.

Venice fest is the oldest film festival in the world and one of the "Big Three" film festivals, besides the Cannes Film Festival and Berlin International Film Festival.  

The festival will take place on August 29 - September 8, 2018 in Italy.
