Iranian artists have staged puppet theater adaption of ‘Macbeth’ play with local costume of southern Iran.
The puppetry show was performed at the latest edition of Iran International Puppet Festival “Tehran-Mobarak” with the event coming to an end August 29.
Puppetry artists did the show with characters wearing Burqa as local costume in Iran port city of Bandar Abbas.
Director Majid Beshkal told local media he chose such costume for puppets to reveal double layered characters in ‘Macbeth’ by William Shakespeare, implying that Burqa hides the physical appearance of someone wearing the outer garment.
