Iran documentary 'The Lonely Road' has been accepted to compete at 2018 Montecatini International Short Film Festival in Italy.
Directed by Mohammad-Reza Hafezi, the flick will be competing with 15 other productions from countries such as Japan, Germany, Italy and Belgium.
‘The Lonely Road’ details the story of Aziz Mohammadi, a nomadic teacher who tries to help people and students living in the mountains of the Lorestan region in western Iran.
The film has so far won some national and international awards including the best documentary at the 11th edition of the Jahorina Film Festival in Pale, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Launched in 1949, the Montecatini International Short Film Festival aims to give a complete view of the international short film panorama.
The 69th edition of the film event is slated for October 22-28, 2018.
