Directed by Ali-Reza Dehghan, the film has been listed as one of the 28 short documentaries selected by the festival to screen at the competition section of the film event.

‘Owsia’ tells the story of a 2,500 year old Aqueduct which goes to sullage during its 84 kilometers of journey.

The Iranian doc has so far gained permit to screen at various international festivals and has succeeded to win awards including the Best Documentary Short award at the 2017 edition of Trenton Film Festival in the US.

The New Earth International Film Festival aims to open the door to the audiences to gain awareness of contemporary threats to the natural environment.

The first edition of the festival is slated for October 15-21, 2018.
