São Paulo Int’l Film Festival to screen Iranian ‘Orange Days’

The 42nd São Paulo Int’l Film Festival in Brazil is to screen Iranian ‘Orange Days’.

The 42nd edition of the São Paulo International Film Festival in Brazil has scheduled to screen Iranian feature ‘Orange Days’.

Directed by Arash Lahouti, the film will be competing with more than 300 films from different countries at the festival. ‘Orange Days’ in an entry to the New Directors section.

It tells the story of Aban, the only female contractor in the cutthroat and male-dominated orange harvesting industry, who enters a competition to win a large contract. Her efforts remain futile while anyone involved in her story tries to fail her.

A number of Iranian superstars, including Hediyeh Tehrani, Ali Mosaffa and Mehran Ahmadi are among the cast members of the flick.

It has gone on screen at some international events, including the 14th Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland, the 18th Calgary International Film Festival in Canada, and the 43rd Toronto International Film Festival in Canada.

The São Paulo International Film Festival, also known internationally as Mostra, is an annual film festival held in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.

A non-profit event, the state and city of São Paulo have established October as the festival's official month.

It is composed of six sections: Special Presentations, Tributes, Restorations, New Directors Competition, Brazil Show and International Perspective. Since 2017, the event also features virtual reality films.

The 42nd edition of the Brazilian festival is slated for October 18-31, 2018.
