Iran short 'Umbra' by Saeed Jafarian to vie in Italy

Iran short film 'Umbra' has been scheduled to screen at the 14th MEDFILM Festival in Italy.

Directed by Saeed Jafarian, the film is about a young woman who realizes a few minutes after midnight that she is with no one. Worried, she goes out in the darkness of the streets.

'Umbra' has so far attended several international festivals including the Cinefondation section of the 71st Cannes Film Festival in France.

It has also been in competition at the 42nd edition of Toronto International Short Film Festival in Canada.

Founded in 1995 in the Italian capital city of Rome, the MEDFILM Festival focuses on giving voice and visibility to independent movies. It is also the only Italian film festival specialized on Euro-Mediterranean movie productions, aiming to encourage mutual knowledge and inter-cultural dialogue between the two shores of the Mediterranean.

The 23rd edition of the Festival is slated for 9-18 November in Rome, Italy.
