Iran ex-footballer stars in movie 'Sniff'

The former Iranian footballer Khodadad Azizi has appeared in a cameo role in Iran movie 'Sniff'.

The former Iranian footballer Khodadad Azizi has appeared in a cameo role in Iran movie 'Sniff'.

Directed by Farnaz Amini, Iran ex-footballer Khodadad Azizi has made a cameo appearance in Amini's new offering 'Sniff.

'Sniff' is scheduled to compete at the Boxing section of the 36th edition of Milano International FICTS Festival in Italy, to be held on November 14-19, 2018.

The 90-min drama is a portrayal of challenges facing boxing and the social issues among youth with substance abuse problems.

Melika Sharifinia, Nima Shahrokh-Shahi, Sahar Zakaria, Sara Monjezi, Atila Hejazi and Pouriya Heydari have essayed roles in the flick.  

In an attempt to make the film authentic as possible, Amini has also made use of Iran professional Thai boxer and acclaimed actor Anoushiravan Mohseni who plays the leading role in the movie.

Khodadad Azizi is a former Iranian football striker and a current coach. He has played for Iran national team.

Azizi is best remembered for scoring the equalizer against Australia in the second 1998 World Cup qualifier play-off leg, sending Iran into France 98.
