Iran actress to be on Greek filmfest jury panel

Iran well-liked actress Fatemeh Motamed-Arya is picked as a jury member for 59th Thessaloniki International Film Festival.

Iran well-liked actress Fatemeh Motamed-Arya has been picked as a jury member for the 59th Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece.

Fatemeh Motamed-Arya is one of the five-member international jury called to judge the films of the international competition section of Thessaloniki event and to award the Golden and Silver Alexanders.    

“Fatemeh Motamed-Arya is one of the most distinguished and respected Iranian actresses, who has won more than 80 national and international awards and has appeared in more than 70 films, collaborating with masters of Iranian cinema, such as Abbas Kiarostami,” noted by the festival’s website.

Motamed-Arya is also a household name to ifilm spectators for movies like ‘Joke’, ‘The Pastry Girl’, ‘The Wrong Guy’, ‘Spouse’, ‘Dear, I’m in no Mood’ and the recently aired series ‘The Chef’.

The 59th Thessaloniki International Film Festival is to discover innovative filmmakers, new sections, engaging tributes and the best films of independent cinema. 

The event is underway from November 1 - 11, 2018 in Greece.
