Love by choice vs. love by obligation: ifilm narrates

ifilm English has selected another feature from ‘Dr. Chamran’ director for Saturday night with a focus on love vs. obligation.

Acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Ebrahim Hatamikia's 'The Bodyguard' depicts idealism in the new era. It narrates the story of a middle-aged man protecting high-profile political figures.

He gets into trouble when a suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest approaches the vice president. Then he has to evaluate the values that he sacrifices for.

Several prominent Iranian actors have starred in 'Bodyguard', including Parviz Parastoui, Babak Hamidiyan, Merila Zarei, Mahmoud Azizi, Amir Aqaee, and Farhad Qaemian.

The film was premiered at the 34th edition of Fajr International Film Festival in Iran and succeeded to grab four awards, including the Best Actor in a Leading Role, the Best Visual Effects, the Best Director and the Best Picture.

‘Bodyguard’ has also gone on screen in Canada, Australia, the UK and Lebanon.

ifilm weekend pick is scheduled for November 3, 2018 at 22:00 GMT.

ifilm English will also repeat the movie the next day at 04:00, 10:00 and 16:00 (all GMT times).
