Iranian movie ‘Dayan’ directed by Behrouz Nooranipour is set to compete in the 22nd annual Tertio Millennio Film Festival in Rome, Italy.
The movie, which depicts the fear and terror created by the Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group in the Kurdistan region, tells the story of a group of 4000 refugees who, in the midst of war, couldn’t reunite with their families on the other side of the border. Being stuck in the middle of a crisis, these families were forced to make some difficult decisions.
‘Dayan’ was recently featured at the 29th Singapore International Film Festival as well as the 15th Resistance International Film Festival in which Nasser Babaeian was awarded Best Actor.
Founded in 1997, the Tertio Millennio Film Festival is a competitive event which has always touched on issues relating to spirituality, while becoming a place for interreligious and intercultural dialogue between the Catholic, Protestant, and Muslim communities over the years.
The festival will be held from December 11-15, 2018.
