Iran film 'In the Mist' by Pegah Arzi has recently received permission for public screening in the country's cinema theaters.
Produced by Houshang Nourollahi, 'In the Mist' was captured last year in the Iranian capital of Tehran.
In this drama about love, loss, and secrets, we follow a father and daughter, Saeed and Nabat, as their happy life is disrupted by the sudden appearance of a woman. The three characters will now have to face their hidden emotions and make decisions that will change their lives forever.
Nazanin Farahani, Setayesh Mahmoudi, Masoumeh Rahmati, Tina Asadi and Pedram Janat Saraye Namin make the cast team of the fiction.
Iran megastar Shahab Hossieni is also among the cast appearing as Saeed.
The 95-min drama is Pegah Arzi’s first feature film.
The director has made a statement on the film saying that “My aim was to make a film for a public that wants to dig into their own internal defenses and emotions, for anyone willing to explore past decisions with frankness and honesty. A film for anyone who has ever dealt with love and hate or felt fear or experienced remorse, for anyone who has wrestled with anger or felt a hidden sadness. A film for anyone who has forgiven or forgotten or lied to or judged someone else. In effect, for anyone who’s ever been haunted by one decision, one lie, one secret, or one momentary lapse of reason.”
'In the Mist' has recently made way to compete in ‘Women Filmmakers’ category of the 17th Dhaka International Film Festival, to be held on January 10-18, 2019.
