UK’s Watersprite filmfest nominates ‘Blue Sky, Clean Earth’

The 9th Watersprite International Student Film Festival in the UK has nominated Iranian short ‘Blue Sky, Clean Earth’ for editing.

The Iranian film is one of the 26 titles chosen out of over 1000 submissions to be screened at the British film festival

Directed by Mahyar Mandegar, 'Blue Sky, Clean Earth' tells the story of Masoud, a small time thief who is charged with terrorism.

The short won best film under 15 minutes and best cinematography from Image of the Year film festival and best original score from Nahal Short Film Festival in Iran. It also won the Outstanding Asian Student Film Award at the 17th International Student Film and Video Festival of Beijing Film Academy in China.

‘Blue Sky, Clean Earth’ has also gone on screen in some global film events, including the 2018 Contact – International Student Film Festival in Turkey and the 14th Early Bird International Student Film Festival in Bulgaria

The 9th Watersprite International Student Film Festival is slated for March 7-10, 2019, in Cambridge.
