A lineup of Iranian films is to be screened in Barcelona to celebrate the history of Iranian cinema over the past 40 years.
Started on January 22, the event plans to screen seven prominent Iranian films in a program entitled “Iran 40 Years”.
The event is being held in a Barcelona-based center named Casa Asiaa with the aim to promot Spain’s relations with Asian countries.
‘Close-up’ by late Abbas Kiarostami, ‘Travelers’ (1992) by Bahram Beyzai, ‘The Blue-Veiled’ (1995) directed by Rakhshan Banietemad and ‘Leila’ (1999) by Dariush Mehrjui are some of the films present at the event.
The list goes on with Ebrahim Hatamikia’s ‘The Glass Agency’ (1998), ‘I'm Taraneh, 15’ (2006) directed by Rasoul Sadr-Ameli, and ‘So Close, So Far’ (2005) by Reza Mirkarimi.
The program will wrap up on March 23, 2019.
Back in summer 2018, Casa Asiaa also reviewed Iranian cinema in the program entitled “Monograph on Iran: A Selection of the Latest Iranian Cinema” with a lineup of ten Iranian films.
