Arman Gholipour’s short doc ‘Affidavy for Khanali’ has been scheduled to compete at the 2019 Divine Queer Film Festival in Italy.
The 15-minute short doc, which is a true testimony on how time outruns humans, will be in competition at the 4th edition of the festival.
‘Affidavy for Khanali’ takes you to a far away village in Iran to show you how a post man of 92 tries to stay in his business while all the forces of nature and mankind stand against him.
Khanali has worked better part of his life as a postman at this village but time has changed and the way he used to run errands have gone obsolete. Matters are now done digitally and on the computers. Khanali has no knowledge on how to use a digitalized device.
Being determined to regain his job, he reaches out to the village residents for some help.
The film has already screened at various international film events and has succeeded to win awards. The Global Youth Film Festival Rangpur (GYFFR), for example, presented the grand title Best of the Fest to ‘Affidavy for Khanali’.
The Divine Queer Film Festival is an independent film event that investigates the topics of gender, diverse abilities and immigration. It aims to demolish stereotypes, taboos and fears.
The latest edition of the film festival is set to be held March 1-3, 2019 in Turin, Italy.
