‘The Warden’ directed by Nima Javidi which is currently being screened in Iranian theaters as part of the 37th annual Fajr Film Festival has released its first official trailer.
Javidi’s film premiered on the opening day of the festival last Wednesday and will be screened in at least two time-slots until the final day of the event.
Produced by Majid Motalebi, the film’s storyline is centered on an old prison in late-1960s southern Iran which is in the process of being evacuated due to its proximity to the city’s airport which is under development.
The head of the prison, Major Nemat Jahed and his officers are in the midst of transferring the prisoners to the new facility…
Actors for ‘The Warden’ include Navid Mohammadzadeh, Parinaz Izadyar, Atila Pesyani, Setareh Pesyani, Habib Rezaee, and Mani Haqiqi.
Founded in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival is an annual event held on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, celebrating Iranian cinema.
Over the years, the event has played a key role in the development of the Iranian film industry.
This year’s festival, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, is currently underway with the closing ceremony scheduled for February 11, 2019.
