Behind the makeup of Fajr contender ‘Midday Adventures: Trace of Blood’

‘Midday Adventures: Trace of Blood’ has shown off new footage of its must-see behind-the-scenes glam work.

‘Midday Adventures: Trace of Blood’, at the helm of Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian, has advanced in the Fajr race for sitting on the list of top 10 audience picks. This is while the film has also grabbed the attention of many cinema critics.

The flick is expected to become a blockbuster hit in the box office for more than one reason. Some are saying it is a huge step in the Iranian Sacred Defense cinema. Others are praising the film for its refreshing take on the story. Some are giving it five stars for one slept-on detail: the makeup.

Upon closer inspection, you will find that the on-screen makeup looks are deeply intertwined with each characters' plotline — including Mohsen Kiaee, Hasti Mahdavifar, Behnoush Tabatabaee and Javad Ezzati. The little details of their looks help build on the characters' personalities.  

The film is currently in the running at the main competition section of the 37th Fajr Film Festival.

‘Trace of Blood’ is a sequel to Mahdavian’s ‘Midday Event’ drama with a theme on the events after the end of the Iran-Iraq war and, more to the point, Operation Mersad.  

One of the noteworthy awards garnered by the first sequel of the film is the Best Film Award from the 35th edition of the Fajr Film Festival.

Besides the stars named earlier, Hadi Hejazifar and Hossein Mehri are also a part of the much applauded film.

The 37th FFF began on January 30 and it will run until February 11, 2019 in Tehran and several other Iranian cities.
