Comedian Seyyed Javad Razavian has attended the 37th Fajr Film Festival with his directorial debut ‘Snake Venom', ifilm has reported.
Razavian as a comic actor has broken free from his slapstick and satirical roots and embarked on a more serious genre which has left his fans with many questions as how good the movie is.
He opens up about it saying “They somehow expected Javad Razavian to make a movie in the same genre he’s been active for the past twenty years. However, what we had in our minds was to make a movie based on a social issue in a very serious tone and for some moments we put a smile on the audience’s face.”
The actor-turned-director Razavian has asked critics to severely criticize his debut movie.
Speaking at a press conference after a screening of the film at the event, he said that by his film, he intended to warn about the consequences of poverty and lack of cultural awareness.
Shabnam Moqaddami, Borzou Arjmand, Siamak Ansari, Shaqayeq Farahani, Nasim Adabi and Reza Rouygari are the big names that have appeared in the social comedy.
Razavian has not taken on a role in his own flick.
