Maadi new acting evokes 'Dirty Harry' role: Critics

Cinema critics hail the acting of acclaimed Iranian actor Peyman Maadi in ‘6.5 Per Meter’ evoking the starring role on US classic ‘Dirty Harry’.

The critics focusing on new performance of Oscar-winning ‘A Separation’ star Maadi in Saeed Roustaee’s offering lauded the acting, finding fine similarities between his fresh role and that of  Clint Eastwood as an inspector.

The trade critics noted Maadi’s acting is on par with the leading actor in ‘Dirty Harry', featuring a determined cop who has his own concerns.

The original US flick by Don Siegel is a very good example of the cops-and-killers genre.

‘6.5 Per Meter’ is selected as one of the titles in the running for a Simorgh award at the ongoing Fajr filmfest in Iran.

This cinematic work is a social drama that deals with the issue of illegal drug trade and addiction.

Some of the other cast members are Navid Mohammadzadeh, Amir Jadidi and Parinaz Izadyar.
