House of Cinema condemns terrorist attack on IRGC

House of Cinema condemned the terrorist attack on IRGC personnel in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

House of Cinema has condemned the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack in Sistan and Baluchestan Province on February 13, 2019, which resulted in 27 martyred and wounded dozens of Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) personnel.     

House of Cinema (Khaneh Cinema) published a statement to condemn the attack, pointing to two award winners of the 37th Fajr Film Festival ‘Night of the Full Moon’ and ‘Midday Adventures: Trace of Blood”.

The statement says,The 37th Fajr Film Festival has recently reached the end with two valuable art works as the cinematic representation of hypocrisy. However, we have once again encountered one of the world’s most brutal terrorist attacks occurred by the sworn enemies of the Islamic Iran. We have lost a number of our beloved compatriots and youth of our country who protect and preserve the genuine dignity of the life of the people of their country.”  

Khaneh Cinema, on behalf of the country’s film industry, extended deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured.

Likewise, Iran actress and ifilm star Parinaz Izadyar offered a condolence message in her social media page condemning the attack.

The so-called Jaish ul-Adl terror group has claimed responsibility for the Wednesday night's terrorist attack.

They targeted a bus carrying IRGC personnel in the Khash-Zahedan sector of southeastern Sistan and Baluchistan Province.  

Jaish ul-Adl is based across the border in Pakistan and is responsible for kidnapping Iranian border guards and carrying out other terrorist attacks of this kind in Zahedan over the past years.

Founded in 1989, the House of Cinema operates as the Iranian Alliance of Motion Picture Guilds in Tehran.
