Serbian filmfest to screen ‘The Dark Room’

‘The Dark Room’ is to compete at the 2019 Belgrade Int'l Film Festival in Serbia.

Rouhollah Hejazi’s ‘The Dark Room’ has been picked to compete at the 2019 edition of the Belgrade International Film Festival (FEST) in Serbia.

The 101-minute feature will be screening at the main competition section of the Serbian film event.

The film, that enjoys a social drama genre, narrates the story of a young couple, Haleh and Farhad, and their 5-year-old son, Amir. The small family has recently moved into a new apartment building to start a new chapter of their lives, they cannot imagine what awaits them, though.

Amir is lost in the desert just in front of the complex, however, his parents find him soon. But then, Amir tells his father that someone has abused him and that makes Farhad very upset.

The troubled father is now looking for a suspect who has harassed his little boy.

Sareh Bayat and Saed Soheili are the main cast members of ‘The Dark Room’. Alireza Mirsalari is a child star that took his debut role in the flick.

Hejazi’s film has already attended and won awards from some international film events such as the 2018 International Film Festival of Kerala in India.

Launched in 1971, the Belgrade International Film Festival runs under the slogan ‘A Brave New World’.

The 47th edition of the film event is slated for February 22- March 03, 2019.
