16 Iranian films to attend Poppy Jasper Int’l Film Festival

Some 17 Iranian films are set to be featured in the 14th Poppy Jasper Int'l Film Festival in the US.

Sixteen Iranian short and animated films as well as a documentary from Iran are set to be featured in the 14th Poppy Jasper International Film Festival in the US.

The short films ‘Forouzan’, made by Mirabbas Khosravinejad, ‘Are You Volleyball?’, directed by Mohammad Bakhashi, ‘Slaughter’ by Saman Hosseinpuor and Ako Zandkarimi, ‘Stone on Stone’ by Mohsen Sorajian, ‘Lunch Time’ by Alireza Ghasemi, ‘Raheel’ by Ayat Asadi, ‘Rahbar-Mer’ by Hesam Rahmani, ‘Stone Maker’ by Ali Navaeian, ‘Matilda’ by Hamid Taheri, ‘Trauma’ by Saeed Saberi, and ‘The Oblivion’, directed by Fatemeh Mohammadi, will represent Iran in the festival.

Meanwhile, Mohsen Bagheri Dastgerdi’s ‘Bystander’, ‘The Pattern’ by Azad Jannati, ‘Her Birthday Night’ by Farshad Mohiti, ‘Starvation’, made by Zahra Rostampour, and ‘26:32’, made by Pender Nasser Sharif, will take part in the animation section of the festival.

Reza Sayah’s documentary, ‘Comeback’, will also participate at the festival, which is set to take place on April 3-7, 2019 in California, the US.

The annual event, created by volunteers as part of a non-profit organization, is dedicated to independent films.
