‘Station’ grabs Queen Palm Fest award

Marzieh Vafamehr has won award for ‘Station’ from 1st Queen Palm Film Festival in the US.

Filmmaker Marzieh Vafamehr has won Best Writer Award for her short film ‘Station’ from the 1st edition of the Queen Palm Film Festival in the US.

The bi-monthly film festival of the US bestowed its February Bronze Award to Vafamehr’s ‘Station’ which competed in the Foreign Language Short Film Category of the event.   

‘Station’ plot summery suggests, “A tired worker with a plastic bag in his hand waiting for the last midnight bus. There arrives other passengers and the bus, but…”

Queen Palm was ‘Station' third international appearance as it attended two world festivals before, including 16th edition of Tirana International Film Festival in Albania and the 4th unDependence Film Festival in Edinburgh.

Queen Palm International Film Festival's mission is “to discover diverse new voices and to promote artists' work through numerous platforms.”

Each month, Filmmakers can submit their projects to have them judged by award winning industry professionals and compete with other filmmakers across the globe.

All bi-monthly winners receive award in Gold, Silver, and Bronze as well as Honorable Mention in each category of the festival. All the Gold winners enter into Annual and Awards Show.
