Watch ifilm exclusive report on Iranian feature ‘Misunderstanding’ directed by Ahmad-Reza Motamedi and produced by Jalil Shabani.
The film which received five nominations at the last year’s Fajr Film Festival tells the story of a group of film students in pursuit of an acting career who decide to take a wealthy girl hostage in order to fulfill their goal.
Gradually, the filmmaking along with the hostage situation begins to take a twisted turn, making it hard to differentiate between reality and illusion.
Many of Iran’s household names star in the highly anticipated film, including Akbar Abdi, Mehdi Fakhimzadeh, Merila Zarei, Kambiz Dirbaz, Pejman Jamshidi, Arash Nozari, and Hanieh Tavassoli.
Writer and director Ahmad-Reza Motamedi is no stranger to ifilmers as his movies ‘Alzheimer’ and ‘A Lunatic Fled the Cage’ have been featured by ifilm a number of times.
