Turkish author writes book on Iranian Cinema

‘Iranian Cinema’ written by Turkish author Riza Oylum, published in Turkey.

A book titled ‘Iranian Cinema’, written by Turkish author Riza Oylum, was recently published and distributed in Turkey.

In a meeting with an Iranian cultural associate in Istanbul, the author Riza Oylum talked about his new book along with the significance of the cinema of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its standing in the world.

The author of ‘Iranian Cinema’ talked about his book saying: “In this book I tried to provide Turkish readers with information regarding the history of Iranian cinema, concepts in Iranian cinema, holy defense cinema, the relation between literature and cinema in Iran, notable films and directors in Iranian cinema, as well as Iranian film festivals.”

Published by Seyyah publications, the book was written in Turkish and is 160 pages long.

A film researcher and author based in Turkey, Riza Oylum has written numerous books on world cinema including those of the Middle East, Far East, Russia, and Germany.

In the book’s blurb, the author states: “On the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, this compilation is a gateway to Iran’s developing and progressive cinema.”
