The crew of Iranian movie ‘Charlie in Tehran’ is trying to receive the screening permit at the New Year.
Directed by Mehdi Agha-Babaei, the film will hopefully appear on the silver screen during the current Persian year.
Rahman Rezaei, producer of the film announced that ‘Charlie in Tehran’ might appear on the silver screen before the 37th Fajr Film Festival.
The film is about a person named Salim (Charlie), who is an old actor donning Charlie Chaplin’s costume as "the Tramp" in public due to a chain of events.
The Tramp was British actor Charlie Chaplin's most memorable on-screen character and an icon in world cinema during the era of silent film.
Renowned Iranian comedian, Alireza Khamseh stars the leading role as "Charlie" in the film.
Other cast of ‘Charlie in Tehran’ is Amir Ghaffarmanesh, Mahshid Javadi, Afsaneh Chehrehazad and Hannaneh Ajorlou.
