Iran’s most prolific actresses in last Persian calendar year

Iranian cinema recognizes most prolific actresses of the year.

Iranian cinema has recognized Behnoush Bakhtiyari and Rana Azadivar as the most prolific actresses in the last Persian calendar year.

In the last year, Azadivar and Bakhtiyari have appeared in five movies each.

Azadivar has been in ‘Istanbul Junction’, ‘Vespiary’, ‘In the Time of Hangover’, ‘Bearer’, and ‘Mordad’ (August).

Bakhtiyari appeared on the silver screen with ‘Lasagna’, ‘Astigmatism’, ‘Everything is Normal’, ‘The Redtails’, and ‘Mordad’ (August).

Born in 1983, Azadivar has started the big screen career with ‘The Lizard’ by Kamal Tabrizi.

Since then she has been in several movies, including ‘Workers are at Work’, ‘Zagros’, ‘Parkway’, ‘Familiar Soil’, ‘Shirin’, ‘About Elly’, ‘Mohammad: The Messenger of God’, ‘This Apple is for You’, ‘Sound and Fury’, and ‘When I’m Back’.

Born in 1975, Bakhtiyari is a graduate in French Language Translation. She also took a year-long course in Performing Arts at Rassam Honar School.

She initially worked as a script supervisor then became an actress. Her debut TV series was ‘Fresh Air’ directed by Mohammad Rahmanian in 1996.

Bakhtiyari has taken part in a good number of movies, including ‘Checkmate’, ‘Ten Figures’, ‘The Outcasts 3’, ‘Hectic Times’, ‘The Carriage’ and ‘Men are not Angels’.

She has also appeared in TV series such as ‘Homeless’, ‘The Nights of Barareh’, ‘Checkered’, ‘The Rich and the Poor’, ‘Goodbye Child’, ‘Detour’, ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ and ‘Flower and Nightingale Neighborhood’.

Bakhtiyari was nominated for the Best actress in a Supporting Role award for her appearance in ‘I’ (2015) at the 34th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.
