'Prophet Joseph' female lead Katayoun Riahi holds a talk on the Persian New Year in Iran, ifilm reports.

The super famous actress on ifilm screen talked about Nowruz at international event held in Iranian capital city of Tehran on the eve of the Persian New Year.

The ceremony, dubbed "Borderless Nowruz," was hosted by the ECO Institute.

Nowruz has been recognised as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by the UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). A group of 11 countries joined Iran efforts to inscribe Nowruz as one of the world’s largest and oldest intangible heritage.

The countries seeking UNESCO's approval include Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Iraq.

In 2010, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed March 21 "International Nowruz Day."
