Iranian feature film 'Sophomore Year of My School' is scheduled to vie at the Moscow International Film Festival in Russia.

Iranian feature film 'Sophomore Year of My School' is scheduled to vie at the Moscow International Film Festival in Russia.

Directed by Rasoul Sadr-Ameli, the film will be screened at the competition section of the event.

'Sophomore Year of My School' will compete with 12 other films from Russia, Italy and France.

“Mahtab and Ava are college sophomores who go on a few-day trip from Tehran to Isfahan, along with a number of their classmates,” the film's plot summary reads.

The cast of the movie includes Ali Mosaffa, Pedram Sharifi, Vishka Asayesh, Babak Hamidiyan, Shaqayeq Farahani and Maryam Boubani.

Dating back to 1935, Moscow International Film Festival is considered one of the oldest film festivals in the world.

This Russian cinematic event is compared in importance to its other European equivalents such as Cannes and Berlin film festivals.

The 41st edition of the festival is slated for April 18-25, 2019.
